ur Environment I Board of Directorsg Herbert W. Cooper, President. .L Along with Drs. Alvin Haley and Richard Iuergens, Mrs. Esther Mossburg provides health services for ill staff and students. 0 . Doctors are many things to many people. Patients de- pend on them . . . R.N.'s love them . . . other doctors respect them . . . ward clerks tolerate them . . . su- pervisors humor them . . . and student nurses worship them. They come in assorted shapes and sizes . They may be attired in anything from scrub pants and a sports jacket to a turtleneck sweater . They have a unique talent for turning up at the wrong places at the right times Qin the middle of a patient's bath or in the clean utility room when a group of students are discussing last night's partyb . One minute they scold you and the next minute they put their arm around you. One of their greatest joys in life is teaching and they are the most tolerant when a med error has been made . Even though they disgust us sometimes and scare us most of the time, we love them dearly and admire them even more . They are an integral part of every student nurse's life and we will be eter- nally grateful to the doctors of Parkview . ll

Faculty Revises This year Parkview Methodist School of Nursing was headed by a new Director of Nursing Education . Mrs . Dorothy Craig took over in june of 1968 . Since then she has provided help and guidance to the stu- dents . It has also been her goal to provide a first-rate school. It is through her efforts that changes have become possible and the community has become aware of student nurses and their roles . This year the faculty endeavored to expand the scope of the student's learning. Empha- sis was placed on individuality and deter- mining of one's role in the community. A new avenue of communication opened be- tween the students and the faculty making this a very good year Mrs. Violet Baker, obstetrics instructor, leaves the dorm to supervise students on the clinical area.
