At Parkview Q K Open houses were held at English Hall to present all aspects of a student nurse's life and education. Still other changes occurred. Mrs , Dorothy Craig became Direc- tor of Nursing Education . . . a new curriculum was set up . . . students took a new interest in Indiana Association of Nursing Stu dents and Fort Wayne Council of Colleges . In the dormitory stu- dents became better friends through bathtub stuffings, football games, and sing-ins . As the world changed, so changed the stu- dent nurse. 6

Change in Life 1 For the second time in the history of Parkview Methodist School of Nursing, a male student regis- tered. K '- A---..,,, The psychiatric affiliation was taken here at the home school. Under the capable direction of Mrs. Carol Warner, students studied the nurse's role in care of the psychiatric patient. . gf A ' E Phil Fisher, traini.ng director, and Dave Ridderheirn, assistant administrator, inspect equipment installed to facilitate teaching of interns from Indiana University School of Medicine. The intern program was set up by Dr. Franklin Bryan and was the first such program to be seen at Parkview.

The year 1968-1969 has seen an important change in the lives of Parkview nursing stu- dents . They became vitally interested in their world outside of nursing. One could hear discussions about politics, the war, economics . The nurse is playing a major role in today's society and as students we have attempted to define that role . But, as we entered this new sphere of change, we were also surrounded by things We do and see everyday. The mundane, the ordinary. The things that make us feel at home .
