Serve a Growing School System l 1 FRANKLIN D GAMBLR J. 0. HARRELL ROBERT P HENRY The Board of Education is made up of citizens who are elected by the voters of the city to represent them in helping to provide the best possible education for students. The members of the Board of Edu- cation give direction to the schools by planning and by employing the personnel who have the ability, initiative, and skills required to carry out these plans under the leadership of the Superintendent of Schools. Although these members of the Board of Education are busy men who are conducting work of their own, they devote many hours to helping provide an excellent school system for the city.
