Second Row: Chester Dean. Gertrude Probeck. Mrs. Berg. Eleanor Myers. George Kasik. DEBATE This year a new form of debate was introduced: no decision was given either way. Although not very favorable to the debaters it was used throughout the season in debate work. The question for debate for the year 1932-33 was Resolved: That at least 509, of the total state revenue should be derived from other than tangible property. The Bay Village teams debated with Dover, Fairview and North Olm- sted. The Seniors were represented by Eleanor Myers and Gertrude Pro- beckg the Sophomores by Ruth Weston, Mary Merseberg, Jean Osborn, Myrtle Wildasinn, Chester Dean, George Kasik and Robert Klemm. The only active Freshman was June Erwin. Mrs. Berg again coached the debate team this year and in this, her last year, all the debaters who have had her for a coach wish to express their thanks for the great help she has been in her three years here at Bay High. -1oooo4KDocxmcxx3ooo43cKDcKD4x94+ ARC-LIGHT The school paper, the Arc-Light was published twelve times during the school year. Most of the issues were edited by the English classes of the high school. These were under the supervision of Mrs. Berg. The Junior high students, with the help of Miss Hayes were responsible for another issue. Mr. Griifith furnished the material for two issues. This year due to financial dilliculties the school mimeographed the copies of the paper. They found this way of making up the paper to be much cheaper, and to work out as an educational device having many dis- tinct advantages. The business and circulation management has been under the direction of Mr. Wertz. Student staff members in charge of business were Russell Schulke, manager and J ay Hubachg and the student circulation staff members were Betty Hoag, manager and Marion Bloomfield. TWENTY
