Group II School The booming bats of Wayne Byrd and Dewey Young and the three-hit hurling of young Ted Phillips to give the Parksley Eag¬ les a 3-2 win over the Atlantic Cardinals last Wednesday at At¬ lantic. Both Young and Byrd had two doubles and two singles. Byrd walked in his other trip to the plate, for a perfect day. Claude Linton, who went the route on the hill for the Cards, smacked a tremendous home run in the bottom of the fourth, he singled home their other run in the opening frame after Justice had doubled. On the hill he whiff¬ ed ten and issued free passes to two. Phillips started on the hill and went the distance to notch the win for last years’ champs. He walked six and struck out nine, in making his first start on the hill. Phillips father, Pep, and his uncle, Tommy, were both great ballplayers a few years ago. Linton ' s two hits and the doub¬ le by Justice, were the only base knocks that the Cards were able to muster. The box score was as PARKSLEY Bailey, 3b Nock, 2b Satchel 1, 21 V.
