FOREWORD . . . The high school years which once seemed so ultimate and somewhat frightening to us have drawn to a close. In shedding our status as high school students, we assume new places in the social strata, new functions in our communities and world. We, the Class of 1963, are the tenth group of young people so to emerge from Parkland High School. To commemorate the hours we have spent here as well as the tenth anniversary of this school, the Par-Key staff has chosen as its motif the Roman numeral ten or modified hourglass. We earnestly hope that in this yearbook, in addition to the pictorial recording of certain select events, we have caught some of the intangible personalities and atmospheres that have characterized our high school years. Here we also wish to thank our teachers, administrators, friends, and parents for the often unappreciated guidance, interest, and time they devoted to helping us mature into useful and educated persons.

DEDICA TION The Class of 1963 dedicates this edition of the Par-Key to Mr. William D. Randall. As a teacher of history and advisor to the Senior Class, Mr. Randall has proved himself more than worthy of this tribute. When called upon to assist in any capacity, he readily and unselfishly contributes his time, knowledge, and efforts. His understanding and counsel, tempered with a sense of humor, have been an encouragement throughout our years at Parkland. For his many contributions Mr. Randall will long be remembered. 4
