Matadors Turn to Fall Projects SPIRITED MATADOR: While George the mascot of the flags doesn't exactly go beep, beep, the girls love him. HOLD ON: Andy Collins became the proud owner of a birthday balloon bouquet, courtesy of ZORRO. THE EYES HAVE IT: Aurelia Cole, Michele Layne, and Carla Jones got Bug-Eyed with pride over their classes' efforts to win the spirit stick at the Riverside pep rally. The Senior Class won another spirit stick for this 0116. l SURPRISE, SURPRISE: Yvonne Breeze and Aure- lia Cole lead the festivities at a surprise birthday party for Miss Gil. BIG FANS: Becky Watson and Susanna Tarango al- ways came up with fresh ideas for their pep rally cos- Il1l'H6S. We,ll remember the pride we developed over the years. '4WE'RE THE MATA- DORS, AND COULDN'T BE PROUDERR is a phrase we'll never forget. And when we come to parkland again at Homecoming, or look through this year- book, we'll remember that teary-eyed feel- ing we got whenever we sang 'fFrom the fields of the lower valley, to the slopes of Mount Franklin's Crestf' the words from our beloved alma mater. And welll recall the tremendous burst of pride and energy we felt when the band played our fight song. Spring '83 Events ow Memoriesg MARDI GRAS: Christine Szeredy and John Ceni- ceros ham it up in costume during the foreign language celebration. REFRESHMENT HONORS: Denise Seward and Yvonne Veilleux serve refreshments during the NHS reception. We make lasting friendships while in high school. We become friends and confi- dants, sharing our fun, building memories together. We'll draw on those memories lat- er, when life seems tough, or we get lonely. We'll only have to drift back in memory to conjure up scenes of Pep Rallies where we acted crazilyg dances that we hated end- ingg songs that carried special meaningsg all the fun at games and car washesg and sell- ing, selling, sellingg raising money for trips, equipment, uniforms, and all kinds of things. Weill remember many things: the fun we had in class when our work was doneg group projects, shared lab tables, choosing teamsg the weakening of our knees and knots in our throats when we were called on and we wer- enit prepared.
