Colorful Spring, Fall Activities Each year of high school holds new exper- iences, new teachers, new subjects, and new friends. We realize that it is truly made up of Meeting the Challenge in all things we do. High school prepares us for college.. Some of us experience our first job responsibilities during these years. Either way we are pre- paring for our future. We remember our first day of high school, trying to find our lockers, trying to grab the right books for hopefully the right class. We remember our first date, and- the first time dad let us use the car. We remember how embarrassing it was to get yelled at by up- per-classmen for walking down the wrong side of the hall and how fast five minutes' went in between classes. We remember try- ing to get everybody to believe we werenlt afraid ofdissecting frogs and worms in biol- ogy class. We remember' Friday Night Football Games and going gout and cele- brating afterwards, We recall driving up and down Dyer Street on Saturday nights. We remember Homecoming Week, coming to school on the Sunday before -Homecom- ing to decorate the halls, then wearing our pajamas to school, dressed up ready for a toga party, dressed with our closed turned inside out, and coming dressed as punk rockers. The day of the game we wore our black and gold clothes with our faces paint- ed black and gold. The period of the pep' rally we listened for the roar of the drum- mers marching through the halls, and as they passed all classes followed to the gym- nasium. J We remember our senior trip, going out of town not with our parents, but with our friends and teachers. We all bought enough food to feed an army, but we managed to eat it all. We will always remember our graduation night, wanting to stay out until the sun came up.. r We see that our friends make up a huge part of our lives. We make lasting friend- ships that we hope will follow us the rest of our lives. We did a lot together. We cheered together at pep rallies and football games. We went shopping together, we even shared each others, clothes. We spent our extra time at our friends houses getting to know their, older brothers or sister.s. . Each and every minute we spent at Park- land High School with friends and foes helped us in Meeting the Challenge of Life.
