In addition to this honor, Gene has been active in football for four years, two of them on varsity. Students choose Tim, Tina r Miss Parkland Chosen as the two students who are most representative of Parkland High School were Tim Sughrue and Tina Jackson. The pair thus become Mr. and Miss Parkland for 1980-81. Both students have been extreme- ly active Matadors. Tina was a member of the freshman, B-team and varsity cheerleading squads. She has been active in student coun- cil, freshman class favorite, optimist award winner as a sophomore, and on the gymnastics team as a junior. Tina won the KINT 98 Nicest personw award, served as student council vice-president, won mem- bership to National Honor Society, and was Lady-in-Waiting to the homecoming court. ' Tim Sughrue has been very active in sports at Parkland, beginning with his freshman year. He partici- pated in freshman football, skipped B-Team and joined the varsity squad as a sophomore. He was a sophomore class officer, played B-team baseball, and be- came a student council officer in his junior year. Tim is a letterman, a member of the letterclub, a National Honor So- ciety Member, and a Mr. Ten Run- ner-up. Mr. and Miss Parkland. 20
