ariety of activities breaks up monoton When people hear the word Nschooli' the first thing that comes to mind is all work and no play . This is not necessarily true. Along with all that hard work and studying, there is some fun. There are clubs and other organizations to suit every want and need. Here at PHS we have sports, the band, DECA, a Rugged Adventure Club, HECE, VOE, Library Club, ROTC, Choir, Student Council and many more. Twenty years ago, many of these clubs did not exist. And those that did, were small in membership. Through the years, as the school grew, so did the numbers in and of the clubs. Of course, the main reason for school is to learn and grow, both mentally and physically. With the help of teachers, administrators, and all the clubs and their sponsors we fthe studentsl can grow socially and economically. Twenty years is a short time span for a school and PHS has grown substantially within that time span. Keith Kennedy shows his style at halftime. 16 Members of the yearbook staff work hard on underclass picture day. Mr. Perez tortures students with note cards. Coach Coates burns up the track. PHS students evacuate the building during a fire drill. JE x., , wi! :i3E:f'?:'f1:fa1w.m 1 i -tr we X , .. Q. ,1 if! .asawgzdix an ,r S ii. i,

It shows in all of our activities, everything we do. This year brought new exper- iences to us. We were suddenly faced with renewed challenges from the past, honors we never expected. Every day brought new memo- ries. A teacher of the year, most popular, council and class presi- dents, and other honors. And we'll remember these things too: rowdy class meetings, spirited pep rallies, noisy lunches. They are all a part of Parkland-every day. They are a part which will be left behind as we graduate. A part to remember as we go on to bigger things. I5
