rg at, Military Ball Queen-Diane Hannah The Parkland ROTC department held its annual Military Ball under the theme, Valhalla,,, January 13. Diane Hannah, a senior, was se- lected to reign as the 1973 Military Ball Queen. Senior Myrna Medina served as Lady-in-Waiting. Duchesses were: Mary Grube, Rosemarie Ter- rian, and Joyce Chase. Drill-Team Sweetheart Debbie Huff, and Rifle- Team Sweetheart Peggy Williams were also presented at the Military Ball coronation, A dance was held following the crowning of Queen Diane by Brig Comm. CC P9 Beauti ul People Chosen At Parkland Cactus Flower , Park1and's eighth annual Beauty Pageant was held Janu- ary 27. Among 27 contestants, representing various school clubs and organizations. Debra Adler, a junior, was named as Most Beautiful. First runner-up was April Freemen, a freshman, and Car- men Trujillo, a junior, was selected as second runner-up. Most Beautiful and first and second runner-ups were presented bouquets by Julia Quinton, Most Beautiful of 1972 and Margie Cathers, editor of the Arena Debbie Prendergast, a senior was chosen as Miss Congeniality by the other contestants in the Pageant. A All contestants were judged on the basis of beauty, poise, and charm. The pageant was sponsored by the Arena staff and Mrs. Stasny, sponsor.
