A Special Tribute A Special Tribute Mrs. Katie Nowell Katie Nowell was first employed by the Parkin School System in 1948 when she served as secretary for a school funded “on the farm” training program for veterans. After this first year, she was hired as the general secretary at the high school serving both the principal and the superintendent. She became the general bookkeeper working solely in the office of the superintendent in 1963. Serving in this capacity, Mrs. Nowell became an indispensable asset to the school. Teachers and administrators as well as students became dependent on many occasions on her help and general knowledge of the workings of the school. Mrs. Nowell is looked upon with admiration and respect by all who have known and worked with her. As she enters into retirement, she carries the best wishes of all her friends and their thanks for a job well done. 3 Parkin High School — Home of the Tigers Table of Contents Administration............................................ 5 Faculty................................................... 7 Seniors ................................................. 10 Juniors ................................................. 22 Sophomores............................................... 28 Junior High.............................................. 33 Elementary............................................... 52 Organizations............................................ 69 Favorites................................................ 87 Athletics................................................109 Advertising..............................................137 Mr. Corbet Passmore Superintendent of Schools Mrs. Katie Nowell Bookkeeper P.
