x lily, 1 Ml ll' l ill' ill 'N l ll . il ' rniwvwnwyusvvvuwbuwvhvvvwvvwvwwsu v page twenty LOG Our ship just sailed from Jr. Hi Sound, And having sailed around and around, We determined to land on the sought-for shore Which happened to be the Senior Door. O'er the Juniors' and Seniors, jeers and shouts, We Hnally sighted our whereabouts. The auditorium was our start, a most gracious hall. There the captain yelled, Ship ahoyl Aboard, alllv We first were assigned teachers and a home room, And then settled down to our obvious doom, For the Freshman year is a really hard strife, Uneventful days, and a very sad life. We were still babes, and our entire crew Was yet on the Freshman Islef' very new. And because the sea was so calm and a bore, We headed our ship for the Sophomore shore. We landed safely after very good sailing, But a few of our sailors proved to be failing, So, lest we too find ourselves in this boat, We once more set our ship safely afloat. Sighting land, we steered, and successfully ulandedf' And there for a while, we found ourselves stranded. But now we began our real social life, With a J.-S. Banquet our guests to delight. Soon we were tired, and ere long we had started To the Isle of Our Dreams, Home of the Gayhearted. And now we were Seniors and proud of our name. Here was the goal we had strived to attain. Senior I's at first, and all that was to be Was just to have meetings and arrange Senior Tea. Cur declcings were gorgeous, and after the dance, We shoved off and set sail to be Senior II's, perchance. And then the Picnic was indeed a lark, This great feast being held at Masonic Park. Next came the Tea and the Banquet too, Which we attended with our entire crew. Our Sermon was excellent, but seemed rather sad, For we thought of the high school life we had had. At Commencement, instead of yells and vast cheers, Even our bravest resorted to tears. Alas, all too soon our ship is free, And by ourselves we go to sea. We find we're now starting on life's thrilling cruise, And we know we must chart which course we shall use -MARTHA HIEI-ILE.
