Their sponsor was Mrs. Adell who helped them very much in their first year of high school. Their first class party was held ip the gymnasium. The freshmen were waiting impatientally for a certain event. It was their initation. On November 27, the seniors gave them, a party which made them full-fledged Panthers. When their sophomore year came around, they were more acquainted with the happenings in P.R.H.S. They were ready to take on another year with the help of their two sponsors, Mrs. Irwin, and Mr. Shire. The sophomore class had two enjoyable parties, one of which was a Hobob Party , and the other one was trip to Garnett to see the show McClintock. One of the sophomore girls received the position of cheerleader and was a homecoming attendant. This girl was Charleta Dumcum. There were four boys who lettered in athletics their second year of high school. They were: Doug McCarty, David Hodgson, Gary Lemon, and Robert Chambers.
