Senior Class History On August 28, 1961 wo entered Parker High as Superior Seniors with an enrollment of thirty-seven. We had lost one, Larry Acock, and gained three. Madonna Magers, Vicky Chambers, and Dorothy Andrews. During the year we lost two, Arleta Troutman and Bernice Clay and gained one, Dorothy Fortner, leaving us as thirty-six.. We elected as our class officers, Larry Morgan, president of our class our Sophomore and Junior years, as president Virginia Gorrell, vice-president; Colleen Cockran,Secretary; Carolyn Wilson treasurer; and Dennis Ross and Linda Ellis as Student Council members. Our sponsors were Miss Frederickson and Mr. Lemon. Members of our class received many honors. Marcia Knight re- ceived the Outstanding Student Award and was Y-Teen and Pep Club Presidents. Madonna Magers was the high salesman of the Magazine campaign; Mary Creighton ranked third, Larry Morgan placed fourth Dennis Ross was Homecoming King, Carolyn Wilson was Queen. Colleen Cockran and Roger Knight were attendants. Dennis Ross was the Student Council President. Our class ranked highest in the maga- zine campaign. Linda Ellis, Elaine Conrad, and Dorothy Andrews achieved four years of perfect attendance. Virginia Gorrell was Band Drum Major. Janice Woolsey, Ela'ine Conrad, and Carolyn Wilson were twirlers. The senior boys were outstanding in basketball. The Senior girls rated high in small ensembles. Steven Long won first in high and low hurdles in the Regional Track Meet, and he won Second in high hurdles in the State Track Meet. This 1962 Yearbook was edited by Nancy Finfrock, Shirley Page, Marcia Knight and several able senior assistants. Our Baccalaureate Services were held in the High School Audi- torium on Sunday, May13. The Commencement was on Wednesday, May 16, 1962. Mr. Wes Santee gave the address. We chose the pepermint carnation as our class flower,light blue and silver as our class colors, and our motto, Today part of a big class, tomorrow part of a big world.
