In the month of September 1951 thirty-one freshmen eager for learning enrolled in Parker Rural High School. Miss Prederickson was their sponsor and the following officers were elected: Alice White, pres- ident; James Finfrock, vice-president; Carl Frear, secretary; Dale Mahan, treasurer; Beth Diehm and Phil Polley, student council members. The class Showed many talents and displayed them during the year. The next year twenty-eight cubs enrolled as sophomores. Dale Mahan was elected president; Evelyn Polley, vice-presi- dent; Otis Lile, secretary-treasurer; and Wanda Troutman and Carl Frear, student council members from their class. The whole school elected Shirley Quisenberry and Evelyn Polley cheerleaders. Seven sophomores appeared in the Y-Teen Plays, and three were chosen for the All-School Play. Three boys contributed to the success of the Boys' Glee Club at Lawrence, and a number of sophomore girls sang with the music groups at that event. Beth Diehm was elected president of the Y-Teen. In the fall of 1953, twenty-eight juniors enrolled for more book learning. Shirley Quisenberry was elected president; Carol Hahnfeld, vice-president;Phil Polley, secretary; Charles Light,treasurer;Marjo ieWilcox and Beth Diehm, student council members. The class had a gave their class play, was very successful, was honored by the seniors In September 19514- skating party that fall. They State Fair on February 2. It The Junior Senior Banquet, md will be long remembered, twenty-seven seniors came to complete their high school career. They started their last year by electing class officers, president, Philip Mathews; vice-president, Aldana Bowman; treasurer, Carl Frear; secre- tary, Shirley Quisenberry, The initiation of the freshmen came next. They all enjoyed their one class party a wiener roast,at the Osawatomie Lake and a skating party afterwards at the Osawatomie rink. The senior class play, New Fires provided the money for their Sneak Trip , which took them to Noel, Missouri. This trip was enjoyed by all the seniors who boarded the bus for Noel, Missouri at I;: 30. On the evening of May 8 was Baccalaureate Services, on May 12, Commencement with Professor Henry A. Shenk, Chairman of the Physical Education Department at the University of Kansas as guest speaker. Shirley Quisenberry gave the Valedictory, Beth Diehm, the Salutatory, Joyce Byerley, Class Will, Marjorie Wilcox, Class Prophecy, and Arlene Koontz, the Class History.
