The first call for track brought thirty-five ambitious boys onto the field and track to begin training for a hard schedule that lay before them this spring. H While Albert Rues is the only letterman of last season, several of the boys have been point winners ln past seasons and at the time this book goes to press, which is before any meet of the season, it appears that F. R. H. S. should have a team that will give a good account of itself. Rah! Rah! Rah! Cn, Parker Hi! And did Parker Hi go on ---- particularly during the basketball season. This was due largely to the faithful and willing cheerleaders. Gladys Stroup, our head cheerleader, proved to be a very capable leader for the other cheer leaders-Carl Peterman and Veda Fern Wlnelsno, who ln turn proved very capable of leading the student body. l Our cheer leaders attended every game, yelled, and made us vsll until we were hoarse. Of course we dldn't mind this because it usually helped to win the games. So in the future, if these competent cheerleaders go about ovsrythlng as they have gone about this business of cheerleading, we feel that much success will be theirs. 26

Parker ran its consecutive string of victories to five before yielding to an opponent. Two losses were suffered and then again the victory march reached seven before another defeat was taken. All in all, fourteen games were won and five lost for a winning percentage of .737. Parker finished the league with eight victories and two defeats, thus capturing the league title for the first time in the history of the school. Parker defeated Blue Hound 32 to 14 in the first rou d of the oou ty tournament. Pleasanton, who was idle the first night, took Parker out of the running for the county championship by winning 56 to 28. In the consolation game, Parker again was subdued. This time Prescott was winner by a 32 to 28 score. Parker had previously defeated Prescott in league play, once by one point and once by two points. Parker entered the regional tournament at Kansas City in the Class A division. They were defeated by Washington Rural High 23 to 22 in an overtime game. The boys did not play their usual game, they seemed to be lost on the large floor. However, Parker has one consolation in the fact that lard Hi, the State Class A Champions, defeated Washington Rural by only five points. Twelve letters were issued by Coach Jilka.
