GIRLS' CHORUS The Girls' Chorus under the direction of Mr. Tritle has presented many fine recitals this year. One of the outstanding activities was singing at the annual school board convention at Kittanning, where the trio composed of Lois Pollum, Carol Matthews, and Pauline Mullen, the Junior Class ensemble, and chorus sang numbers that were received with very favorable commendations. The chorus did the musical accompaniment of carol singing to the pantomined Nativity scenes at Christmas. Other activities included the spring concert, May Day Program, and the Forensic contests in Clarion. In addition to developing their voices and learning to read music, the girls have acquired a better un- derstanding of the mechanics and techniques of singing and an appreciation of many different types of mu- sic from their participation in Chorus. The majority of the girls are also members of mixed chorus which helped in the presentation of the Christmas program. ..38.- ss . if f ss! i s- .. ig

BOYS' CHORUS The most interesting and amusing activity of the Boys' Chorus this year was the presentation of the minstrel show, which was enjoyed by everyone. The highlights of the show were the currently popular Dragnet acted in pantomine by john Kelly, Carl Terwilliger, Howard Blymiller, Raymond Seigler, and Robert Trillg a return engagement of The Parkettes - John Kelly, Howard Blymiller, Robert Trill, and Raymond Seiglerg and humorous renditions by the newly formed Jug Band. The end men for the mins- trel were Reynolds Welling, Duane Tremba, Bill Blymiller, Alan Moberly, Dan Overheim, and Richard Mar- nic with Steve Curry as the constantly heckled Mister Interlocutor. The Boys' Chorus helped to make our assemblies more interesting by participating in several of the pro- grams and they also took part in the May Day festivities. Many of the boys are members of mixed chorus. .39-
