PRESS CLUB The Press Club is an organization that pub- lishes the school paper every two weeks, or whenever special occasions arise, for news is printed from both the grade school and high school. Members are pupils from ninth grade through twelfth grade, with each member having a special duty concerning the publica- tion of every issue of the paper. The staff tries to get all of the news going on both in school and school activities, by summing up the events of the occasions in one or two interesting paragraphs. In return, the members get the experience of composing, writing, and printing the paper. All of the typing for the paper is done by the senior typists. Mr. Holmgren, Mrs. Dore, and Mr. Schu- mann are the advisors, and have been very cooperative in helping with the paper. The staff is as follows: Co-Editors , .. . .,.. B. Dearolph, B. BOYS' CHORUS The Boys' Chorus, under the direction of Mr. Charles Tritle, has done ex- ceptionally well this year, considering that they have only one period a week for practice. There are thirty-seven boys in the chorus which are taken from grades nine to twelve inclusive. Last fall the boys' chorus had an entirely new experience. They put on a minstrel which was well received by the public. Because of insufficient periods for practice it has been impossible to have a mixed chorus this year, but there are indefinite plans as to a mixed chorus next year. The boys in the chorus profit considerably from their membership. Although it takes a lot of hard work to have a good chorus there is also time enough for some fun. The boys think that congratulations are in order for Mr. Tritle, who has done a very good job with the chorus this year.

JUNIOR AND SENIOR YEARBOOK STAFF It might be of general interest to learn that work on the school's yearbook begins shortly after the opening of school in the fall, and continues into a year- long task. The Senior Staff, assisted by an elected Junior Staff, spends many hours in soliciting advertising, selecting and editing material, all of which must be care- fully arranged to compile a book suitable for publication. The Torch Staff of '52 hopes its efforts have been successful. To the teachers who so willingly gave of their time and labor that this yearbook might be a success, we extend our sincere thanks.
