STUDENT COUNCIL The Student Council is the only organization in school controlled mainly by the students themselves, aided by Mr. Tremba as sponsor. The group is com- prised of students elected from each class, along with each class president. The duty of the group is to cope with, and settle problems that occur in school life. Student Council acts as a Congress in our school, settling such problems as, selecting class rings, what movies shall be shown, and any other situations which confront the student body. It saves time, and solves many problems which would have to be taken be- fore each class individually otherwise. The Council has proved to be very worthwhile and successful to our school. TRI-HI-Y The Tri-Hi-Y girls' organization to which its members are proud to belong. Its purpose is to create and maintain throughout the school and community high standards of Christian living. Our regular meetings are held every two weeks, each being opened with a worship service consisting of a Scripture Reading, Prayer, and a number of sac- red songs, including our Tri-Hi-Y song to the tune of Tell Me Why. This is then followed by a business session in which we discuss such subjects as our pro- gram at the Veterans' Hospital or things that will do some good for our commun- ity and all concerned. Then our program: this is where we all take part bringing up our various problems such as dating, etiquette, and in trying to create and ob- tain a higher Christian standard. . This is not only helpful during our school years, in which we are creating habits of pure thoughts, words, and deeds as our emblem stands for, but will be an asset to us in our later years. If we strive to attain Christian standards through our thinking while in high school, it will remain in the years to come. ALT:-IEA McK.r-:E -33...

i 9 T L Cfli The Iota Chapter of the Omega Xi Fraternity was organized in 1919. In the past the fraternity was much more influential than today. The boys in the active Fraternity brought in new members by a boobing or hazing period. Down through the years the true idea of the Omega Xi has- faded out of existence. The monthly letter to the National Head and National dues were forgotten. Until now all that is left of the original organization is the boobing period. The last of the Omegans are trying to get the Fraternity re-organized to a worthwhile organization.
