Mr, George C. Staley, who has been coaching and sponsoring the team for the last few seasons, called practice shortly after school commenced last September. VVith Captain Robert Nebel, and Manager -Ilfenry Birss, Mr. Staley tried hard to form a team that would make a good showing in the league. Mr. Goldberg of the Normal College took up the coaching duties during the middle of tl1e schedule. The First practice game, played with Lake View, 1927 city champions, resulted in a 8-0 loss for Parker. The next tilt was with Crane, Parker losing, 2 to 1.
