Each year the Parker High School Annual is dedicated to a special per- son. This year, to continue the tradi- tion, a very special lady has been selected. She is the backbone to the production of the annual, and a dear friend to all who know her. We, the yearbook staff, dedicate the 1988 Parker High School Annual to Sue Anne Boeve Uden. Sue, daughter of Sonja and Ron- ald Boeve, has taught at Parker High since 1982. She has held the posi- tion of Yearbook Advisor for six years. She was the J.V. Volleyball coach for 2 years, and the Take- down Club advisor for three. Sue was born on October 3rd, 1959, in Holland, Michigan. She spent the prime of her youth in Lan- sing and then remained in Holland until 1981 when she spent one year teaching English in Kobe, Japan. Then in 1982, she joined the teach- ing staff here in Parker. Sue has always been a very athle- tic person which is displayed by the several sports she has been a part of in her life. While attending high school, Sue was a member of the swim team, the softball team, the volleyball team and the track team. Then while attending Hope College, Sue was made a Morale Girl and Coach of a very famous tradition, The Pull. This is an activity where 20 guys and girls are selected from the freshman and sophomore classes. The 20 guys participate in a glorified tug-of-war across a river while the 20 girls give them morale or support. The tradition is well known throughout the mid-west and each year, hundreds of alumni re- turn to watch the event. ln 1983, Sue exhanged vows with Kevin Uden. Then in 1985, Sue had her first child Matthew. They are now expecting another child in Janu- ary, 1988. This year, unfortunately, will be Sue's last year here at Parker High. She will be missed by all that knew her, but hopefully fate will guide her to return to P.H.S. in the future. 2!Dedication Sue Uden in second grade. ii , f- s J 1 MQ ' il i . f 1 g 5 l 4 az ggi, MA f 3 Q, Ep Q 5 S - 'J . . , 6 .,,,g K . 1 5 a 2 4 225, Serving during a Varsity Volleyball game. .. s SX K f Mrs. Uden in 1987 at P.H.S.
