This record seems even better when you consider that of those 4 losses, 2 were to a Class C varsity team from Salome, one to a Class A team from Kingman, and one to a Class AA team from Yuma. Another consideration is the fact that the Parker IV's beat Salome and Yuma in other games and tied Kingman. Coach Antcliffe's team did some fine pitching by sophomore hurlers, Larry Smith and Greg Hines. In the field, short stop, Nat Nez and second baseman, Leonard Zeyouma proved to be good infielders, Top hitters for the IV's were freshmen, Ronnie Simms and first baseman, Steve Sachak The most improved players during the year were outfielder, Fred Haskins, third baseman, Arliss Carter, and Miner Webster who was converted from an infielder to a catcher, Coach Antcliffe stated, The boys were very enthusiastic even though their practice field facilities were poor. Je. VAIZQUV BASEBALL was TRACK! Although the total amount of participants wasn't as large as in previous years , the Track team had a good season. In addition, the Broncs rewrote five school records and one state record in compiling a 2-5 dual and triangular meet season, In addition, the Broncs made fine showings at the Invitationals they attended and placed third in the B-West Divisional Meet. A record amont of boys competed in the State Meet at Tucson. Bob Woodley, the outstanding track man of the 1968 season, won the State Championship in the high jump setting a new state record of 6' 1 114 , 1968 TRACK RECORD Parker 48 Kingman 79 Parker 92 Bagdad 16 Parker 63 Phoenix Christian 64 Parker 65 Phoenix Christian 62 Parker 36 Antelope 68 112 Kingman 53 112 Parker 42 112 Kingman '72 Boulder City 47 112 Parker 46 112 Antelope 79 112 an 9 Q 9 Q Q6 W , . This was the third consecutive time Samuel Antcliffe's Broncs ran over B-West opponents and advanced to the state tournament. In order to remain in the state finals the Broncs had to defeat the St. Johns Red- skins and the Camp Verde Roughriders, which they did overwhelmingly. In the final game, the Broncs were defeated by the Marana Tigers, 67-86, to take second place in the Class B State Tournament. Even though the Broncs lost the championship, they had a very successful season with 26 wins and 3 losses. This brought Coach Antcliffe's record to 130 wins and only 26 losses. 1968-69 BASKET BA LL SCORES REGULAR SEASON PARKER OPPONENT 71 47 Payson 81 56 Kingman 73 37 Maricopa 96 36 P.
