They appeared and provided music for all pep assemblies and through basketball season provided two fine and enthusi- astic pep bands for the games. The Band assisted in the dedication of Buckskin State Park on the Colorado River. The winter concert was a complete success. The music presented at the concert was some of the most difficult ever played here. This concert brought a record-breaking attendance. The B-West festival was held at Payson this year, while all-state tryouts were held at Flagstaff. Four people from our band were selected to the all-state band: Sharon Dunn, Vickie Lee, Lillian Garcia, and Donald Jackson. Later in the year the annual Spring Concert was held. Something different was started this year--The Grand Tour. This had the Concert Band presenting concerts to several different communities. All in all the Parker High School Band had a highly successful year. Also, Arizona Western College at Yuma holds many college-credit classes on week nights during the school year.
