CLASS PROPHECY My name is Mike Garcia and I am a star gazer for the Moonlighter’s Institute. One day while watching the stars I decided to take a trip to Parker to find out how the Class of '57 had prospered through the years. After landing at the Parker International Airport I took the subway into town and decided the best way to obtain information was to inquire at the Ritz, Parker's newest dining room. As I walked in I thought I recognized someone, and sure enough I did. It was Ruby Coburn, the manager of the Ritz. I asked Ruby if she knew where Danny Robles was. She thought for a moment and told me I undoubtedly meant Squire Jess Robles. She added that he had bought out Jess Bowman and owned the world's largest chain of drug- stores. She went on to say that Conner Byestewa owned and operated the Parker Valley. She started to tell me about Austin Anderson but customers came in and I told her I'd see her later. I started for the drugstore and as I crossed a street, two taxis had a wreck. The drivers were none other than Austin Anderson and Ray Enos. I told myself that this would be a good timetotalkto them so I asked if the little gasoline motor was still on Black Mountain supplying power for the T. V. tower and who in the world kept gas in it? They told me that Gary Gaston had a Super Duper Service Station up there to keep it running and he was also a part-time maintenance man; he has to keep the P painted pink and black. I bade the boys good-bye before matters got too hot and continued on to the drug store where I found Squire Robles. He told me about some more of our classmates. He reported on the following: Lola Patch is the world's champion lady golfer; Phil Cox is chief justice of the Supreme Court; Mike Chandler owns a sanctuary that is strictly for the birds up on the Bill Williams River; Tino Leon is in Cuba, racing cars; Jim Wilkinson is head of the F. B. I.; Cliff Jackson is president of the A. I. A.; Kathy North owns a cheese factory in Florida; and Wayne Crawford is making waves in the ocean. I went to see Lola then and she told me that: Deanna Holmes runs a circus in Alaska; Priscilla Scott is in Texas making weather reports; Ernie Moore is in politics; Robert Nez is giving talks on world peace in Washington; and Allen Marshall is a postmaster in Bismarck, North Dakota. She said that Charles Sweany was at Parker Dam in the nursery school business so I went to see him. He told me that the Roach brothers are in Africa selling valley convertibles and are doing quite well; Audrey Eddy is testing nylons in California; Ruthy Edwards is manufacturing cigarettes; Charles Sanders is in Kentucky playing ball for the Angels; and Ramon Tahbo is in South America where his job is to make sure there is enough rainfall in Parker. I had to get back on the job so I boarded a plane and found the pilot was none other than Helen Williams who reported that: Tom O'Hair owns a radio station in Bermuda; Bob Owings is in the Hawaiian Islands on a strict diet of bananas and cocoanuts. The story goes that Bob's car lost a drag and it gave him ulcers. Arthur Hoover is bagging game in the Mohave Desert and Verdie Beeson is in Panama keeping the canal open. As I went back to my seat in the plane I thought of the glorious days we had spent at NYCUHS and I was relieved to find that the Class of '57 had graduated from the Constitution class and that each one of them had done so well.

From 1. tor. are, 1st row; Secretary-treasurer Sally Vanegas, President Bunky Johnson, Sponsor Mrs. Witzleben and 2nd row; Reporter Charles Al- len, Vice-president Maurice Wilson, and Sponsor Mr. Patton. Marilynn (Bunky) Johnson headed this great class, one of the largest, and they had a year full of activities. Plans are being made for a Junior-Senior Prom and Banquet which the Class of '58 hopes to be a bigger success than those of the past.
