Dear Students: Parker High School h symbolic of friendliness, cooperation, high scholastic stand ards, efficient student government and many other worthwhile attainments. It has been built around standards set for you by those who have gone before and by you for those who come after. Through associations with your school mates and Teachers, 1 hope you have become aware of the importance of loyalty and cooperation. You should remember to be successful in lasting friendships and in making life's adjustments; you must have these and other desirable character traits. The age in which wc live is one of speed and acceleration. You are fortunate in that you have health, happiness, ambition, aspiration and opportunity. Some have used the opportunities offered through the school for self-betterment, others have yet to awaken to their full potentialities. But all of you with the assets you possess should seek further prosperity and security, using to the greatest extent possible your talents to be better citizens—physically, mentally, socially and spiritually. Respectfully yours. .G. R. C. JOHNSON, Principal VVV Ml

DIRECTOR'S MESSAGE The creation of this Annual involved much hard work. I heartily commend everyone who had anything to do with nfaking it possible. This publication. I am sure, will promote good public relations, provide a pictorial record of the school's activities and preserve ones memories of his school days. My message to students, which I was asked to write, is simply this: The people of Birmingham believe in education. They have invested much money in your education. Let your life and work today and in the years to come be positive proof that investment in the education of youth is the wisest and best investment that any city can make. As you daily live and work in this direction I bid you God’s speed. Sincerely yours, c. W. HAYES Director of Negro Schools MRS. WAYMOND MATHERSON Secretary
