BUYS TRACK ' - 74 ,-.1 f - , Row One: Cgry jensen, Scott Keeley, Boomgarden, Row Two: Coach Deutsch, jeff Trainer, Darwin Boomgarden, Todd David Richter, David Petersen, Andy An- Derek Muller, jeremy Meyer, Brian Leininger, Chris Novak, Ken Pietz and dersen, Mark Brown, Troy Schmit, Darren I-HHZSII, Mark ChI'iSf91'lS6I1, Mike Jefferies, Tricia DeVries-Student Managers. Track Team Excels Last year ended up with a bunch of guys attending the state track meet in all five relays, but not passing prelims fexcept the two-mile relayj where there are no prelims. This season returned two of those members, Mike Iefferis and Todd Leininger, and with them came a hun- ger to not only return to the state track meet but to get to the finals. These two led the team as their hunger Wore off onto some of the other guys and this team became a bulldozer, destroying their competition. The team did not end up as successful by the means of sending more events to state but overall it was a much more exciting team, sending five guys in four events to the state track meet. The team got going and set two school records to even make the year more of a success. The icing on the cake came when the 800 meter relay, Mike in the 400 meter dash, and Todd in the 100 meter finals in Sioux Falls. It dash qualified for the better as the relay placed fourth and Todd tied Under the direction of their third coach in years, the team worked hard for Coach Deutsch that was a dream come true for a team that had accomplish. 74 Boys Track only got for fifth. as many in a year a goal to Participating in the state track meet were: Row One: Troy Schmit, Row Two: David Petersen, Todd Leiningerp Row Three: Derek Muller, Mike Iefferis. Wifi!! The 800 meter relay placed fourth at the state track meet. Members of that relay were: Todd Leininger, Derek Muller, Da- vid Petersen, and Mike jefferis.
