' Girls Track ROW One: Kerri lOhI'lS011, Karen Bjorneberg, Ierrice Nelson, Paula Viet, Manager, Merrill, ISHHY K21St6n, Stacy Leininger, Monica Nelson, Michele Crist, Annette Ann Nelson: Row Two: Coach Larson, Jennifer Plucker-Student Driving Towards the Finish One year after only one girl was sent to the state track meet, the girls had improved to send six girls and set two new records. The girls were given Coach Bjorneberg to direct them, and that he did. PHS girls even improved to the point of a conference record in the medley relay at the con- ference meet. The girls that were at the state track meet failed to qualify for any finals, but yet set a new school 800 meter relay record. A major improvement occurred this season in girls track. It cannot be attributed to just one thing, but many things and people that helped. A split from the boys team and their own coach was a major affect and even more importantly the fact that the girls decided to work and were dedicated to doing their best. A successful season is an understatement of the girls' great season. Tracksters Paula Viet, Monica enjoy the Parker Invitational. Nelson, Scott Keeley, and Jenny Kast 72 Girls Track 9
