SWEETHEART The night ot March 1 was filled with a glimpse of an ticlpotion as to who would become the new Sweetheart and Marshall at the annual FHA and FFA Sweetheart dance. Setting the mood was the band Crossfire from Vermillion. When it came down to the tlnal moment former Marshall Russell Buseman crowned the new Sweetheart Tricia Duncan and the new Mar- shall Eugene Even. Atter coronation the rest ot the evening was filled with loud music and lots of dancing. FFA also served popcorn and pop tor refreshments. Overall the evening was a huge success and every- body enjoyed themselves immensely. C, Merritt, K. Butenschoen show J. Woltt how upperclassmen enjoy dances. ALL SCHCDCL PLAY It all started early one morning when twenty dedicated students came sleepily wandering onto the stage for the first play practice of the year. These practices continued but prob- ably wouldn't have been bearable without the help of the rolls from the bakery to get us started. When they felt the play was almost ready they added light and sound effects. They were finally ready for opening night. On May 19, 1986 at 7:30 p.m. people from the community and surrounding towns filled the chairs in the elementary gym to witness the opening night of the All School Play entitled The Speckled Band under the direction of Miss Denise Haisch. This Sherlock Holmes thriller was filled with action, such as: The mysterious death of Julia Stoner, the strange but crazy Dirty Ned kept your interest with his silly disguise, and who could forget the gypsie named Morgana who threw a glass of port in Dr. Roylol't's face, and last but not least the death of Dr. Roylott and the solved case of The Speckled Band. The evening ended by the cast presenting a bouquet of flowers to Miss Haisch for all the time put into this year's play and plays in the past, and for being a super director.
