ALL SCHCDCL PLAY It all started early one morning when twenty dedicated students came sleepily wandering onto the stage for the first play practice of the year. These practices continued but prob- ably wouldn't have been bearable without the help of the rolls from the bakery to get us started. When they felt the play was almost ready they added light and sound effects. They were finally ready for opening night. On May 19, 1986 at 7:30 p.m. people from the community and surrounding towns filled the chairs in the elementary gym to witness the opening night of the All School Play entitled The Speckled Band under the direction of Miss Denise Haisch. This Sherlock Holmes thriller was filled with action, such as: The mysterious death of Julia Stoner, the strange but crazy Dirty Ned kept your interest with his silly disguise, and who could forget the gypsie named Morgana who threw a glass of port in Dr. Roylol't's face, and last but not least the death of Dr. Roylott and the solved case of The Speckled Band. The evening ended by the cast presenting a bouquet of flowers to Miss Haisch for all the time put into this year's play and plays in the past, and for being a super director. She'll be missed greatly next year. CAST .......5TOCY Leininger .......Tim Miller .......Amy Chicoine Felicia Westphail .............. Rhonda Friese Marie Armitage ................ Paper staff started right at the beginning of the year with stu- dents ln grades nine through twelve signing up as volunteers to write the paper. Paper staff was advised by Mrs. Connie Flyger. She contributed her knowledge and experience to help her students produce their weekly endeavor. Co-editors this year were Denise Story and Todd Leininger. Each of these students gave their time to help the other students and advise them on their ques- tions. They also did their share of reporting and adding new features to the paper to make it more interesting for the student body. Everyone who was a member ot the paper staff should take a special pride and satisfaction in knowing the job they did made the paper better and made it something for the students to keep and remember in the future years. We have faith that next year's paper staff will be even better because they will be a very experienced group to record all the happenings at PHS. ff' f . ff ,., .,,, M K 1 X ,J W ffm? This season the Pheasants were a strong team and were feared by many. The guy's team was real strong in the relays as they sent eight guys in all tive relays to State. This is an accomplishment only one oth er team had this season. They were also strong in many open events as Chad Nelson went to state in the discus and Carter Krumbach in the 300 meter hurdles. The girl's team was not quite as strong but they hung in there and finished in the middle with an outstanding ettort. The girls relays placed in many events. The individual events were the strongest for the girls as Monica Nel- son made it to state in the 800 meter run. The track season was really exciting as ten state track meet participants and three school records topped otf one great year. The school's records were in the boys 400 me- ter relay and the 2-mile relay and Michele Crist in the 100 meter hurdles. At the state meet, the 2-mile relay team placed fourth and Carter Krumbach placed sixth in the hurdles. 7' E - S s 1986 Track Team. First Row: J. Nelson, M. Will, M. Schottelman, M. Nelson, P.
