An all-around coach is a big asset to ParkdaIe's team, as Mike Smith well knows. The men behind the defense, coaches Arbutina and Matters. Ron Evans bursts through the middle for yardage against Northwestern. The Green Machine enters the gridiron in pursuit of another victory. The Parkdale Varsity Football team had a truly successful season this year. The team finished with a IO-2 record, and 7-i in the league. Above all, the team beat Perry Hall of Bal- timore, 28-7, to win the first Maryland AA State Champion- ship. The team was definitely considered to be of little threat in thebeginning, but with each victory in the course of the season, support grew and the team climaxed their season with the win over Perry Hall. One lesson learned this year by opponents is that the Parkdale Panthers meant business this year. Paso Gross breaks through the offensive line in pursuit of the passer.
