For Charles Shultz’s “Linus,” Happiness is the secu- rity of a blanket; while to Charlie Brown, it is a warm puppy. Happiness to each of us may vary, but to the students of Park View Happiness is a Homecom- ing victory . . . Christmas vacation . . . snow . . . pep rally . . . four rolls for lunch . . . getting out of study hall ... 3:00 bell on Friday afternoon. It is a small dim ray of light in a dark world ... a smile from a friend ... an understanding and favorite teacher ... no homework ... a special date for the prom. Happiness is something warm and special about good times. As students pass through the crowded hallways at Park View, much unforeseen happiness befalls them. It is a catalystic agent that aids in achieving a goal and gaining success. Putting on class rings for the first time . . . passing final exams . . . graduation ... all bring happiness to each individual as he achieves his treasured goals. Happiness, although elusive and intangible, fills every part of our lives. i -1 INTRODUCTION 1-1 1 SPORTS 12-35 ADMINISTRATION 76-87 STUDENT LIFE 36-75 STUDENTS 88-123 ADVERTISEMENTS 124-153 SENIOR DIRECTORY 149-159 EPILOG 160 South Hill ' J i ; POPULATION 3.805 CRAWFORD — an active and enthusiastic Physics Class beating Bluestone LE Mm HJp w . jpi r air tip I Mff , mBT f m II | Mb; j HAPPINESS IS . . . jr v:-«. : . educational television . . . . wet basketball players . . . being that fabulous, masculine, Bluestone football captain 6 Ha jf USSfib i 9 -c jJB.g H 1 HAPPINESS IS . . . . . . passing government skipping school -I; Trvonomcfrv S ' C nrnl Math HAPPINESS IS . . . . . . a way out . . . a peppy audience at a day-long assembly . . 3 o clock! 11 at 28 9 th Straight; ick. Mary Jane Paulette turns in annual subscription money as Larry Dix looks on. Susan Waters works at the difficult job of identifying hundreds of students. Miss Abernathy patiently explains to the new annual staff all the informa- tion necessary to produce a good year- book. 64 1 These representatives handled the annual subscriptions: Frankie Malone, Mona Howell, Buddy Morris, Carolyn Hamlin, Betty Carter, Sylvia Ezell, Billie Raines, Marie Harris, Cathy Jeffreys, Paige Callis, Bobby Freeman, Benny George, Spencer Armistead, John Lacy, Gary Poythress, and Joy Thomason. I 5 Annual staff members take a break after a night’s work. Miss Abernathy took on a time consuming job when she accepted the position of annual advisor.
