JZ TJ. s Show hreai Promise Members of the J.V. Basketball team are: KNEELING: Linnie Cleaton, Ricky Hite, Coach Eddie Crowder, Thomas Martin, Bob Thomasson. STANDING: Charles Ozlin, Chris Curtis, Stuart Taylor, Henry Smiley, Benny George, Johnny Northing- ton, Buddy Morris, Donald Curtis, Bill Bryson, Lou Tanner, Jack Haskins. First string players Buddy Morris, Johnny Northington, and Charles Ozlin wait for the ball as Bill Bryson gets the tap from the Bluestone Barons. J. V. team captain. Bill Bryson, displays fine form with his jump shot in the game with Brunswick. Park View Baby Dragons with Mr. Eddie Crowder coaching, captured a 6-4 season. Sophomore Bill Bryson led the team as captain and paced the scoring. Charles Ozlin, Linnie Cleaton, Jack Haskins, and Johnny Northington joined Bryson in the scoring column and helped to round out the Dragon attack. 29

r ago ns There had to be a first time for Park View at Charlottesville and in their first performance at the U. Va. Coliseum, the Dragons represented District III well, with a score of 59-66. With this experience under their belts, the Park View team may look forward to many trips to Charlottesville in the future. Ben Taylor fouls a Matoaca player in our attempt to rebound. Bill Ogburn (22) battles the Kersey brothers of Matoaca for control of the ball. High scorer, Nickie Cleaton, takes his favorite jump shot as Dave Crawford clears the way. 28

The 1967-68 Dragonettes are: FIRST ROW: Janice Wise, manager, Sandra Allen, Judy Connelly, Peggy Ozlin, Kay Coleman, captain, Mary Montgomery, Ann Coleman, Trudy Hendricks. SECOND ROW: Betty Nichols, manager, Jeanne Leggett, Laura Crews, Judy Overton, Debbie Hudson, Martha Thomasson, Mary Jane Paulette, Joyce Inge, Mary Alice Davis, Rachel Cook, Mrs. Estelle Lumpkin, Coach. The Dragonettes led by coaches Mrs. Estelle Lump- kin and Mr. Eddie Crowder posted a 10-1 season. The “Lady Dragons” advanced to the district tournament and beat Dinwiddie in the first game, but lost to Central in the finals. Mary Montgomery, leader in the scoring department lays in two points against the Blackstone Girls. 30
