E. Club organizes at the beginning of school with the members immediately starting work at their respective jobs. The Distributive Education Club is an integral part of the Distributive Education Program and is composed of all students studying Distributive Education. Because of their schedules, D. E. students are deprived of the oppor- tunity of joining some high school clubs; hence, this organization gives them a sense of belonging , a desire prevalent among all young Americans. Though the activities of the club, stu- dents are taught leadership; they also learn to regard the field of distribution as a profession. School Opened Sot Students On Monday, September 8, school opened once more for the students of Park View High School. Students arriving for first day. There was an air of enthusiasm as the pupils gathered in the gymnasium for devotionals and general instructions. In the opening program Mrs. Annie Lou Williams led the assembly in singing several hymns. Devotionals were led by the Reverend John Z. Brandon of LaCrosse. Miss Marguerite Trimm in- troduced Marlin Johnstin, the new president of the Student Council, who spoke briefly. After Mr. B. P. Lumpkin gave the students their homeroom numbers, the assembly adjourned, and students re- ported to their homerooms. Students leaving assembly to go to their assigned homerooms. IB

Education The year ' s program of work in- cluded: development of the ability to work in groups through local meetings, area conventions, and an annual state convention followed by the national convention of the Distributive Edu- cation Clubs of America; social events, an annual employer -employee ban- quet; and development of projects to promote good school and public re- lations. All of these activities were carried out in order to train to- morrow ' s leaders in the business world.
