Such is the case at Park View, for guidance is truly a joint function of the entire faculty, the home, com - munity, and pupils. The guidance program was organized in an effort to assist students and teachers, and to cooperate with the community. It was planned to cover several main areas-- orientation, program planning, social development, occupational and vocational information, job placement, follow-up, and college entrance. 12 School Opened Sot Students On Monday, September 8, school opened once more for the students of Park View High School. E. Club organizes at the beginning of school with the members immediately starting work at their respective jobs. The Distributive Education Club is an integral part of the Distributive Education Program and is composed of all students studying Distributive Education. Because of their schedules, D. E. students are deprived of the oppor- tunity of joining some high school clubs; hence, this organization gives them a sense of belonging , a desire prevalent among all young Americans. Though the activities of the club, stu- dents are taught leadership; they also learn to regard the field of distribution as a profession. Jeanette Poythress Oakley and Averett Rudy Conner; President Mobile Service Station Education The year ' s program of work in- cluded: development of the ability to work in groups through local meetings, area conventions, and an annual state convention followed by the national convention of the Distributive Edu- cation Clubs of America; social events, an annual employer -employee ban- quet; and development of projects to promote good school and public re- lations.
