The Park View Dragons met the Brunswick Bulldogs in a well fought football game with the Dragons winning by a margin of 13 points, the score ending 24-13. At half time. Queen Mary Carey was e scorted onto the field by Co - captains T ommy Cobb and Z . T . Wells, with the President of S.C.A., Sidney Clark, as crown bearer. She was crowned by Mr. Charles H. Morgan, principal, and reigned over her court consisting of Roberta Read, Eleanor Piercy, Seniors; Mary Helen Holmes , Jane Lewis, Juniors; Doris Andrews, Linda Carter, Sophomores; Joyce Orr, Nancy Gilbert, Freshmen; and Mary Ellen Mewborne , Joyce Matthews , Eighth graders. The Park View Band and Cheerleaders performed for Her Majesty afte r which the Queen was escorted off the field with her court following . After the game a dance was held in the Park View Gymnasium for the Park View Students, Alumni, and friends, thus ending the first Home- coming of Park View High School. Each year they select diffe rent projects, such as; contributing food and toys to needy families, ways to improve the home , and the annual banquet which is a joint project with the state convention and a delegate to the state camp at Smithfield, Virginia. The eighth grade F. H. A. is composed of girls taking an exploratory course in Home Economics. Through Home Economics they strive to learn ways in which they can improve their family living. F. F. A.
