Not only do I propose end of prohibition of mari¬ juana, and total shift of treatment of actually ad¬ dictive drugs to the hands of the medical profession, but I propose a total dismantling of the whole can¬ cerous bureaucracy that has perpetrated this his¬ toric fuck-up on the United States. And not only is it necessary that the Bureau of Narcotics be dis¬ mantled and consigned to the wax-museum of his¬ tory, where it belongs, but it is also about time that a full-scale Congressional Investigation, utilizing all the resources of the embattled medical, legal and sociological authorities who for years have been complaining in vain, should be undertaken to fix the precise responsibility for this vast swindle on the administrative, business and mass-media shoulders where it belongs.
