Entering Freshmen are required to take a survey of this important field to become acquainted with the development of the art, architecture, philosophy, music, and literature of the western world. This forms a general background for the work of the depart¬ ments in the division: Bible, English, art, music, philosophy, lan¬ guages, and speech.
