THE lll IDRS . . . STEVE DE VOE came to Park in the third grade. He re- ceived his major letter in basketball '51, and since has received letters in tennis, football, and 2nd year basket- ball. He was voted co-captain with his brother, John, for the past basketball season and is a member of the Varsity Club. Steve also played the role of Knudsen in Eleven Against the Sea. GEORGE DOWNING came to Park this year and already has received his major letters in football and basketball. He also was voted the Reichel Award in basketball for this season. George is a new member of the Varsity Club. JOHN ESTERLINE came to Park in his Freshman year. He received his major letter as football manager this year. John is a member ofthe Red and Black and Panther staffs, the Student Council, Varsity Club, and Prompter's Club. John also was in the school play this year. CHARLES POLLOCK came to Park his Fresh- man year. He is a member of the Red and Black staff and was a very capable stage manager for Eleven Against the Sea. Charlie won his major letter in Varsity toot- ball ofthe year. He belongs to both the Var- sity Club and the Prompter's Club. RALPH WALROD enrolled at Park in his eighth grade year. He received his major let- ter in baseball 1951. He since has won a let- ter in basketball. Ralph stole all the laughs of the play by his hilarious role of Brooklyn. PHIL WHITESELL joined Park his eighth grade year. He has been an active member of the Student Council, Varsity Club, and Prompter's Club and has won first and second year letters in football. Phil was also in the school play this year, doing a marvelous job as Captain Lawford. DAVE YOUNG came to Park last year and has won his major letter in football of 1951. He is a member ofthe Varsity Club and was in Eleven Against the Sea.

yamfmon cllcgaublon Samps came to Park in his Junior year. He has earned a Varsity let- ter in football and two in baseball. He has also been awarded reserve numerals in basketball. He is in the Varsity and Prompter's Club and had an important role in this year's all-school play. He was also in the i951 Minstrel Show. He has been the sports editor for the Red and Black the past two years, and this year he was editor-in-chief of the Panther. gawk! .Wanda Jerry was editor-in-chief of the Red and Black in his senior year, having previously served as Man- aging Editor in his iunior year and as Business Manager of the Panth- er. Jerry was president of the Var- sity Club this year. He has been awarded letters in both baseball and football and in '51 was given the Reichel Award in football. He had a lead part in Eleven Against the Sea and wrote for the Panther in his senior year. Prompter's Club, Samps McQuiston, Editor-in-Chief of the Panther, Jerry Slatin, Red and Black editor and Varsity Club President, Eddie Hargitt, prominent in the school play, and Bill Cooley, ace southpaw-all are a part of this year's Class. These boys, along with their classmates, were the boosters of such events as the Varsity Club Hayride held in the fall, the Varsity Club Picnic in the spring, and many other parties thrown by the boys this year. -Wabkazd Qoiawmb Besides maintaining a good aca- demic average, Dick participated in the school's plays and musicals the last three years of his high school career and became presi- dent of the Prompter's Club his fourth year. He has written for the Red and Black and the Panther, for which he has received three keys. ... THE SOPHOMORES The sophomore class excelled both in sports and academically. John Allen and Dick McCrae are both honor students, while McCrae, Cline and Moistner have been awarded letters in athletics. JOHN ALLEN has been a mem- ber of the Red and Black staff, has worked on the Garden Tour, and helped put on the carnival. John, with his mimeograph ma- chine, has been a big help in making programs and tickets for the school. DICK MCCRAE has worked on the Red and Black for two years, has won letters in baseball, 'foot- ball, and basketball, has worked on the Garden Tour for two years, is a member of the Stu- dent Council and of the Varsity Club, had an important role in Eleven Against the Sea, and helped produce the carnival. Dick will not be with us next year, for he is moving to Canada. -We will miss him. STEVE CLINE is a member of the annual staff, has been with the Red and Black two years, has worked two years on the Garden Tour, has received let- ters in baseball and basketball, is a member ofthe Varsity Club, and has helped put on the play and carnival. REED MOISTNER is a member ofthe annual staff, has won let- ters in baseball and basketball, is a member ofthe Varsity Club, is on the Red and Black stalt, has worked on the Garden Tour, played the role of Ah San, the Chinese cook, in Eleven Against the Sea, and is on the Student Council. Reed also plans to leave us this year for he is moving to New Bethel. One newcomer, TOM HOW- ARD, although he has been at Park only a year, is a member of the annual stalt, helped out at the Carnival and Garden Tour, and this spring has man- aged baseball. Another newcomer, RICK SHA- HOVSKOY, came to Park from Cleveland, Ohio, at mid-year. Being a half-year student has hindered Rick in getting into many activities, but he was a great help in Eleven Against the Sea.
