He earned his letter in football in 1950, and is serving us this year as pitcher for the '52 base- ball team. x Agn V3 K goal. game John came to Park in the second grade and has been here through high school. He has been awarded three maior letters in football, four in basketball, one in baseball, and three in tennis. Besides being an excellent athlete, he is an ex- cellent student and became a final- ist in the Voice of America. He is the president of the Student Council and a member of the Var- sity Club, was elected football cap- cgihmz Jawa! Ed came to Park in his senior year, and soon became a vital part cf his class by being elected to the Student Council, winning a Varsity letter in football, and reserve num- erals in basketball. Ed displayed his histrionic ability by having a leading role in Eleven Against the Sea. He is also a member of the Varsity Club. tain in 1951 and co-captain of the 1951-52 basketball team, and won the Reichel award in basketball. FOI' the 59l1l0l' clU55, this year has been a big one. The Class was an important cog in the gears which ground out the Carnival, the play Eleven Against the Sea, and, of course, the winning basketball team. Dn Nonnan B.Iohnson Headmaster 1948 -1952 Dr. Johnson has gathered together an excellent faculty and has striven for a closer friendship between teacher and student. The result is evident in this year's excellent spirit and high academic achievement. Through our weekly chapel services he has given us a fuller appreci- ation of religious values, and the coun- seling program has combined the in- fluences of school and home in guiding many of us toward a better understand- ing and adjustment for adult life. yamfmon cllcgaublon Samps came to Park in his Junior year. He has earned a Varsity let- ter in football and two in baseball. He has also been awarded reserve numerals in basketball. He is in the Varsity and Prompter's Club and had an important role in this year's all-school play. He was also in the i951 Minstrel Show. He has been the sports editor for the Red and Black the past two years, and this year he was editor-in-chief of the Panther. gawk! .Wanda Jerry was editor-in-chief of the Red and Black in his senior year, having previously served as Man- aging Editor in his iunior year and as Business Manager of the Panth- er. Jerry was president of the Var- sity Club this year. He has been awarded letters in both baseball and football and in '51 was given the Reichel Award in football. He had a lead part in Eleven Against the Sea and wrote for the Panther in his senior year. Prompter's Club, Samps McQuiston, Editor-in-Chief of the Panther, Jerry Slatin, Red and Black editor and Varsity Club President, Eddie Hargitt, prominent in the school play, and Bill Cooley, ace southpaw-all are a part of this year's Class. These boys, along with their classmates, were the boosters of such events as the Varsity Club Hayride held in the fall, the Varsity Club Picnic in the spring, and many other parties thrown by the boys this year. -Wabkazd Qoiawmb Besides maintaining a good aca- demic average, Dick participated in the school's plays and musicals the last three years of his high school career and became presi- dent of the Prompter's Club his fourth year. He has written for the Red and Black and the Panther, for which he has received three keys.
