THE FRIESHME O O O David Duck Dave played guard in basket- ball and football and won his reserve numerals in both of these sports. He is playing left field on the Varsity baseball team. Dave has made the honor roll once this year. Jess Pritchett Jess took part in the fall tennis program and was awarded the second-place medal. He received his basketball numerals as a for- ward and is playing baseball this spring. He is a member of the Student Council. Larry Folse Larry won both his football and basketball numerals this year, and he is a member of the Varsity baseball team this spring. He portrayed Harkins in Eleven Against the Seo. He is a member of the Prompter's Club. Jim Rose As end on the football team Jim earned his reserve numerals. He also earned basketball num- erals. This spring, Jim is on the tennis squad. David Huncilman Dave was assistant football manager last fall. In the winter he took part in the boxing and wrestling program under Mr. Holzman. He is taking tennis this spring under the some in- structor. Homer Sams Buddy has been at Park since the first of March. He played a little basketball and he is now engaged in spring tennis. Since coming to Park, Homer has made commendable academic prog- ress.

... THE SOPHOMORES The sophomore class excelled both in sports and academically. John Allen and Dick McCrae are both honor students, while McCrae, Cline and Moistner have been awarded letters in athletics. JOHN ALLEN has been a mem- ber of the Red and Black staff, has worked on the Garden Tour, and helped put on the carnival. John, with his mimeograph ma- chine, has been a big help in making programs and tickets for the school. DICK MCCRAE has worked on the Red and Black for two years, has won letters in baseball, 'foot- ball, and basketball, has worked on the Garden Tour for two years, is a member of the Stu- dent Council and of the Varsity Club, had an important role in Eleven Against the Sea, and helped produce the carnival. Dick will not be with us next year, for he is moving to Canada. -We will miss him. STEVE CLINE is a member of the annual staff, has been with the Red and Black two years, has worked two years on the Garden Tour, has received let- ters in baseball and basketball, is a member ofthe Varsity Club, and has helped put on the play and carnival. REED MOISTNER is a member ofthe annual staff, has won let- ters in baseball and basketball, is a member ofthe Varsity Club, is on the Red and Black stalt, has worked on the Garden Tour, played the role of Ah San, the Chinese cook, in Eleven Against the Sea, and is on the Student Council. Reed also plans to leave us this year for he is moving to New Bethel. One newcomer, TOM HOW- ARD, although he has been at Park only a year, is a member of the annual stalt, helped out at the Carnival and Garden Tour, and this spring has man- aged baseball. Another newcomer, RICK SHA- HOVSKOY, came to Park from Cleveland, Ohio, at mid-year. Being a half-year student has hindered Rick in getting into many activities, but he was a great help in Eleven Against the Sea.

Melvin Isaac Melvin could not participate in basketball but did play reserve football. He has contributed several piano solos to our chapel services at the school, and for the Garden Tour he exhibited a large collection of military in- signia. Frank Snyder Frank was on the reserve foot- ball team this fall. During the winter he boxed, and this spring he is playing tennis. Alan Johnson As tackle on the football team Alan received his numer- als. Many of Alan's themes have been published in the Red and Black. In baseball he plays out- field. Fred Thorpe Fred came to Park in Febru- ary and was unable to partici- pate in the winter sports pro- gram. This spring, however, he is taking tennis. David Poston Dave is participating in spring tennis. He was a member of the stage crew for the all-school play and is a member of the Prompter's club. Peter Weldon Pete won his reserve numerals this fall by playing football. He has written many articles for the Red and Black and is also a member of the Panther staff. Pete took second place in the Optimists' Club speaking contest. He is taking baseball this spring.
