The 1987 Brownie editors have dis- cussed at length to whom the yearbook should be dedicated to this year We have chosen for this honor a man who has given much more than his share to Park School. A man who is very dear to my heart and to the hearts of many others who have either passed through his class- room, played for his teams or had a close relationship as an advisee of his. Mr L Brooks Lakin came to Park 26 years ago to assume the role of Head of the History department and J. V. Basketball coach. Quickly, he fulfilled these responsi- bilities and gained more. Four times he has served as a class advisor along with the role of an individual advisor Mid-sea- son 1968, he moved up to Boys ' Varsity Basketball coach to fill Dave Rosen ' s spot. The next year his team won the champion- ship, and then again in ' 72; the only two times Park Boyg B-Ball team has won the championship. Mr Lakin has truly earned the love, re- spect and the title of one of the best teachers at Park ' that former students have awarded him with. For more than a quarter of a century, this man has given his knowledge, pride, dedi- cation, support and respect to the students at Park. But more importantly, he has giv- en his friendship.
