BNI Pys er, cs Gus'ove, fre sC'oO' re- foiner, prepyes for CTFPCV CAROUSEL Our Junior Prom, Carousel, was held in the school gymnasium on May 23, 1958. The gay affair was tull of excitement, color, and enthusiasm. The dance could never have been such a success without the earnest eftorts of the chairmen, Sue Henderson, who did a wonderful iob on posters, Linda Blagg, who was responsible for invitations, and Susan Buirkle, who did an excellent iob ot creating the nostalgic merry-go- round setting. Lynne Maguire, chairman of the dance, along with all other committee members, worked diligently to make the prom the success it was. For the tirst time in the history of Park Ridge High, a smorgasbord was served at the dance. This experiment was accomplished expertly with the best of results. The reigning King and Queen were Bob Murphy and Judy Reimers. They presided over the prom along with Errol Coleman and Rosetta Cossetta, Prince and Princess from the Junior Class. We shall remember our prom as truly made for kings and queens, and so beautifully decorated that all the subjects who danced at- tendance on the newly crowned royalty will always recall the Carousel as one of the spectaculars in the history of '59. 41 SEATED J deNoyelles R Johnson S Rusoff A Brenz M Mor Brenz J Angressno A Hanna R Zullo W Braun Mr Deutrlck rnsey F Krell B Dowdell SECOND ROW M Slater J Artz A THIRD ROW F Mudarna P Dozey L Mann W Rtvero E Bnnovu M Obutlowttz M Redard B Blshop B Stobo E Severnn Severin C Ackroyd G Pasunn R Anderson D Zullo Badford L Bnnovl A Rusoft H Langer J Holgren STUDENT COUNCIL STUDENT COUNCIL OFFICERS LEFT TO RIGHT Muchael Mo rnsey Vuce Presudent M ,I Dettrtck Advuser Ann Brenz Prcstdcnt SJ an Rusoff Secretary Treasu er 42 The Student Councxl the student governnng organnzatron for the school has acqulred many addltuonal responslbulutues durung the past year Headed by Pressdent Ann Brenz the Councnl sponsored a very successful Wnnter Wonderlond Dance and also the Jumor Hugh Dance When our cateteraa was closed the Councul took upon Itself the task of sellrng mnlk :ce cream and potato chnps durnng the lunch hour Another servrce protect was the establishment of a student telephone and address durectory for the convennence of the student body Although tradttnon was shattered when a gurl became presndent of the Councul Ann Brenz has been a mayor factor ID the re establnshment of the hugh stature of the Student Councll un the eyes of the students v vor kv -Q' ORGANIZATIONS Kxjiz F ft: J s If . 1 F V X X - :J ,- ,QY ' ,, ' in ? nf' A 5? Collins, R. Blagg, E. Modzeleski, P. Jacobson, R. Hig- niello, J. Romer. lt was a new year, a new coach, and a new league, but still thc Owls could not win that all important game. Under the careful guid- ance of Frank Dawson, the new head coach, the Owls showed steady improvement as the season progressed. Between the moans and groans coming from the Owl stands, a cheer could always be heard for a crowd-pleasing run by Gerald Lewis. He would never let a game go by without getting at least one twenty yard hike up the Held. He never gave up even when his line seemed to crumble before him. The line had its troubles but never gave something for nothing. Among this gallant crew were Howard Collins, a hard charging and always dependable guard, and Ed Ivlodzeleski, an offensive linesman and a defensive whiz. At the guard position Charles Mina stood like a rock. John Peragallo played a great game at the center position but missed out on the last few games because of an arm iniury. The Owl passing attack could always come through for some needed yardage. Bill Frazer, the Owl left end, was often seen pulling down a Lewis pass. Although the seasons have not been the best in the past few years, the Park Ridge spirit has never once abated. In football the score was not the most important aspect of the game, but the joy of working and playing hard together for a common goal ranked flrst. 2 JV STANDINGL fo R Coach A Sturm R Hnggms G Posml G Reverter R Stanton B Krell D Stock SENIORS D Koplownz ond W Oellrmh 68 BASKETBALL dale, J.
