Fegeleln C Strehlow J Kuehn M Philips I Albert son G Ellin S Carlock Aperfect example of individuals working together as a unit would be the school band Consisting of boys and girls from grades 7 through 12 the band teaches about 40 students how to work together to achieve a certain goal Besides preparing their own band concert in May the band has entertained at the Miss Park Ridge High Contest the junior and senior plays and at the as- sembly programs and pep meetings with one of the most important functions marching at the football games In past years the band has marched in nu- merous parades and band festivals. Additional band equipment has been acquired through the Band Parents Association early last spring. Five white pearl drums with chromium fittings have been purchased by the Band Parents to show their in- terest and purpose of the organization. Mr, William H Allen musical director of the organization has done a tremendous job of teaching these youngsters the importance of individualism even in a group such as this. Peter De Candido has done a more than average job as student director. Under the watchful guidance of Miss Evelyn Long, faculty advisor, the majorettes have produced an or- ganization which enabled them to develop individual- ism as well as responsibility and leadership.
