As in the past the Sophomores had the pleasure of initiating the Freshmen. A program was held at the armory, which everyone enjoyed, including the Freshmen. For Homecoming the ninth graders had a float resembling a cheering section. They also worked hard to have a huge bonfire which was enjoyed by all. DUST OF THE ROAD by Kenneth Sawyer Goodman This year the Minnesota State High School League requires us to use serious plays. Dust of the Road is based on the story of judas and the thirty pieces of money he received for betraying Jesus. The action takes place in the living room of a well-to-do farmer and his wife. Each of the people goes to sleep and has a dream which causes them to profit by judas' experience. We entered this play in the district one-act play contest at Nevis, March 26th. Comms 'Wei' HUMECUMING UF '50 This year's Homecoming will probably be long remembered as one of the most colorful and exciting in the history of Park Rapids. The traditional bonfire, put on by the Freshman Class, was a great success, concluded by the usual Snake Dance. One of the most inspiring events of all the festivities was the crowning of our Homecoming Queen, jill Rohwer. The football game, which was the main attraction, ended the day with a glorious victory over the Wadena Hlncliansf' The score in favor of the Panthers, was 20-14. been 513 i .., A Y ., 4 1 A .:-e Y , ,NV ' 7 jf UUR SPUNSURS f eff J LJ ...M- f X. ai.
