Fun and relaxation- Students look forward to weekend break Hey! What's going on this weekend? Whose party are you going to? Did you get tickets to the concert? Have you seen These and other such questions echoed down the halls every Friday. No matter what had been planned for the weekend, it was always special and students looked forward to it. I love the weekends, said Maria Bischof. There's always something fun to do, and without them l'd never make it through a week of school. One activity students found themselves involved in this year was Royals Baseball. With their third winning season, the Floyals attracted a lot of attention from the students and everyone knew the scores, the faces and the names of the players. lt was a big disappointment when they lost to the New York Yankees in the playoffs for the third year in a row. When baseball was over, there was nearly always a Friday night party, an ELO or Jefferson Starship concert to go to or a movie like Grease that everyone just had to see. Saturday morning meant sleeping in late and trying to recover from whatever had taken place the night before. For some it meant getting up before they wanted to and going to work. Saturday night was often filled with the concert or party missed the night before. Sunday came too soon and students had to face the fact that Monday and school were right around the corner and that another fun-filled weekend was coming to an end. Sunday night was spent doing all the homework you'd told Mom on Friday you had plenty of time to do. Monday morning brought with it the old familar halls, teachers, lessons, eating lunch with your friends, reminiscing and making plans for next weekend's break from the routine.
