But soon they became involved in various activities. Class preparation for Homecoming brought the classes together, clubs began to organize and school was accepted as a part of everyday life. Many students said the September heat made it dif- ficult to concentrate on school work. Pam Tosti, junior, added, After taking it easy during the summer it wasn't easy to come back to school and study, but after awhile it became routine and summer fun became a thing of the past. One problem the sophomores had in facing a new school was the crowded halls. Lisa Thompson, sophomore, said, I was so confused the first few days of school, the mobs of people just add- ed to my confusion. . Crowded conditions have become a more serious problem this year, said Mr. Silas Klaassen, principal. These conditions exist not only in the halls and classrooms, but also in assemblies and in student park- ing lots.
