This year's Homecoming Queen for 1977-78 is Cozy Venable, the loudspeaker blared. Cheers and applause filled the air as Honorary Tro- jan, David Smith, escorted Cozy to her court which highlighted the half-time activities. It's hard to describe how I felt when my name was announced. I was really surprised, but also very excited and honored to represent the senior class, Cozy said. That evening couples danced to the sound of the John Roller Band at the traditional Homecoming Dance which was centered around the theme, Looks Like We Made lt. I think the band should have played more slow songs, said Nancy Byerley, junior, in response to the band. John Harder, senior, added, I think the band took too many intermissionsf' Many seniors, who sponsored the dance, spent long hours after school on Friday decorating the gym for the dance. It was decorated in fall colors and included was a tropical fountain on the dance floor. I think the decorations were really fantastic. The seniors did a real good job, said Susan Annunzio, sophomore. Toward the end of the dance Cozy and her atten- dants were recognized and the formal coronation took place. . v-it-2 xiii?
