The marching band has been awarded first place in the Fayette contest for two consecutive years, not to mention their firsts in previous state contests. Mr. Bucker, the choir director, dedicates his time to directing the A Cappella Choir, Mixed Chorus, and the Freshmen and Soph- omore Choirs. Each of these groups have given concerts open to the community. Mrs. Bucker is also appreciated, as she gives her free hour to accompany the A Cappella Choir. The instrumental section of our music department consists of the Freshman Band, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, and March- ing Band. Under the direction of Mr. Mack and Mr. Flekitke these Bands perform con- certs for the public. The Marching Band is the main attraction at half time on the foot- ball field. This year there has been a new group added to the program. It is the Stage Band. This band plays jazz and gives con- certs to quite a number of clubs and other organizations.
