But what are the students without the teachers? The teachers help guide and mold the stu- dents so that the students can, in turn, shape their school and community into something of which they can be proud. The teachers are not only people who lecture in the classroom. They are friends, advisors, adults who spend their days-and much of their spare time-in trying to help their students become responsible, knowl- edgeable citizens. The teachers, while united in their common purpose, are divided into many different areas of study. A student's choice of subjects ranges from vocal music to Biology ll.'There are quali- fied teachers for nearly every field of study a Park Hill student could desire. He can study business skills, a foreign language, perfection in the uses of his own language, different periods of history-from the Roman Empire to the present day, any number of sciences, physical fitness, or practical arts-from learning how to drive, or learning how to sew and cook, to learning skills in shop and drafting. What kind of a school would we have with- out competent, qualified teachers? We need our teachers not only to instruct us in factual knowl- edge, but we need them to look up to as exam- ples, and to be our friends.
